A one-day event for North East Together members and others to grow and develop collaborative leadership practice in the north east. Together we’ll build on and explore what we (NET members) have created in whole network events, learn from others, and create new tools and understanding. We’ll be looking to move from theory to practice together, and each leave with an understanding of our collaborative leadership strengths and a plan for what we need to develop and how we might do this.
The event will run 9:30-16:30, Wednesday 17 November 2021 at Newcastle University Business School. Each place costs £125 with a small number of supported places at £65 (see below).
If you are as committed to effective collaboration as we are, then this is the event for you - come join us.
In a bit more detail, we’ll learn about
how we’ve explored and what we’ve learnt about collaboration over the last seven years of NET – this is described within emergent Human Learning Systems thinking as ‘learning about learning’
the seven key issues and considerations for successful collaborations (adapted by Dr Joanne James from Bryson, Crosby and Stone, 2015)
the styles, skills, qualities and characteristics of collaborative leadership that help guide and facilitate successful collaborations (Collaborative and collective leadership action inquiry event outcomes, February 2020)
the specific knowledge, skills and behaviours required to lead collaboratively
specific processes, tools and techniques that help within collaboration – our collaboration toolkit
our individual collaborative leadership strengths and areas for growth and development
This event is for you if you are already an ace collaborator - come to share your experience and reflect on what you are doing with your peers - or you’re just starting - come to learn from others to develop your practice.
You don’t have to be a member of North East Together to take part. We’ll ask you if you want to join as a member when you book your place. North East Together membership is free.
Help with the cost
We’ve designed the event to be affordable but we know costs can be a barrier whether you work or volunteer for a small charity or community group with no training budget or you’re working independently for social change. If you’d love to come but the cost is the only thing that’s stopping you, talk with us.
We have a small number of supported places - £65 rather than £125 - funded by Yes We Can. Tell us if you’d like a £65 place when you book. The funder will make the final decision on supported places.
Our collective mission here at NET is to create the conditions, and platform for, collaboration to become the norm in the north east and to nurture a healthier social change system. Together we can do this.
